Musterport ("we", "us") helps emergency management and volunteer organizations track personnel, capabilities, and certifications. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Because Musterport handles data about volunteers and responders, we treat that information with particular care.

Information we collect

We collect information you and your organization provide, and a limited amount of technical data needed to run the service:

• Volunteer records: names, contact details, agency affiliation, roles, and capabilities.
• Certifications and training documents you upload, including issue and expiration dates.
• Account and authentication data for administrators and members.
• Usage and device data (log files, IP address, browser type) to keep the service secure.

How we use information

We use the information above to operate Musterport and to support your organization's readiness:

• Maintain rosters and surface certification status (current, expiring, expired).
• Notify administrators about upcoming certification expirations.
• Secure accounts, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
• Improve the product based on aggregated, de-identified usage.

How we share information

We do not sell personal information. Volunteer data is visible only to authorized members of your organization. We share data with service providers strictly to run Musterport (e.g. hosting and email delivery), and when required by law.

Data retention & security

We retain records for as long as your organization maintains an active account, and delete or anonymize data on request. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, and access is limited to personnel who need it.

Your choices

Administrators can export, correct, or delete volunteer records at any time. Individuals may request access to or deletion of their information by contacting their organization's Musterport administrator or our team directly.
